Julianne Nicholson will be joining the cast of Task season two, where she will be reprising her role from Mare of Easttown! She won an Emmy for portraying Lori Ross, a mother of three from Easttown.
It was never explicitly stated that the shows are connected in any way, though both are based in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Both shows are from creator and showrunner Brad Ingelsby.
Here’s the logline for season 2 of Task, per Variety: “Tom Brandis (Mark Ruffalo) takes the helm of a new task force, but the deeper the operation runs, the harder it is to tell who’s the target.” Season two will also star Mahershala Ali, Harry Melling, Adam Nagaitis, Aminah Nieves and Edgar Ramirez.
Task season one and Mare of Easttown can both be streamed on HBO Max. Mare of Easttown also stars Kate Winslet.
There is no word yet on how her character will factor in to the season two plot. Stay tuned!
