Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayThe release date of the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 received a disappointing update at the 2025 Anime Expo, held during the July 4 weekend in Los Angeles, California. The first season of the show aired in Japan between October 3, 2020, and March 27, 2021. The sophomore season was split into two parts. The first part (five episodes) aired from July 6, 2023, to August 3, 2023, followed by the second (18 episodes) between August 31, 2023, and December 28, 2023. After the second season finale, it was announced that the series would next adapt the Culling Game arc from the manga. However, it was not specified at the time whether this adaptation would be a movie or Season 3 of the anime.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 could get a 2026 release date
Junya Enoki, the voice actor for series protagonist Yuji Itadori, revealed at the Jujutsu Kaisen panel for the 2025 Anime Expo that Season 3 was in production and that he was actively recording for it. Enoki also teased the upcoming season’s battle scenes. The voice actor said, “I started recording already, and I can tell you, the battle scenes are on a whole different level. I would be excited about that if I were you.” (via CBR)
The panel also included behind-the-scenes footage of the Jujutsu Kaisen voice cast members recording their lines for Season 3 and rough storyboard sketches. Enoki hinted at the direction Yuji’s story will progress in the upcoming chapter during the panel, disclosing that his character will be fully aware of what and why he is fighting, because of what happened in the second season.
This will probably disappoint the fans as it means Season 3 will likely come out in 2026 at the earliest.
The anime is an adaptation of the manga series of the same name by Gege Akutami. It originally ran between March 2018 and September 2024. Studio MAPPA produced the previous two seasons as well as the anime movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0. They are also developing the upcoming chapter of the show.
