Wagyu Burgers are delicious and easy way to step up your burger game. Known for the unique marbling in the beef, wagyu burgers are incredibly tender and flavorful! With this recipe, you’ll surprise yourself with how much flavor one burger can have.

How Do You Cook a Wagyu Burger?

Honestly, this one is pretty simple. You cook it like any burger. There’s no secret method that is different for a wagyu-based patty than any other patty of beef. The basic rules remain the same:

  • Handle the beef as little as possible to keep the grind loose.
  • Only salt the exterior of the patty and avoid mixing in seasonings and flavorings as excess handling and salt will push the burger into meatloaf or even sausage-patty territory.
  • Whether in a skillet, on a griddle, or on a grill, cook it hot for a good sear and flavor development.
  • Serve it at whatever temperature you prefer from rare to well done—you know what you like.

How to make Wagyu Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Good Ranchers American Wagyu Ground Beef
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 tsp oil (you can use olive oil or ones with higher smoke points like avocado or coconut)
  • 3 Hamburger Buns

Toppings

  • 6 slices American Cheese
  • Pickles
  • Lettuce
  • Onion
  • BBQ Sauce

Directions

  1. Divide the wagyu ground beef into equal portions and flatten into patties. We recommend making three patties for every pound of ground beef. Generously sprinkle both sides of the patties with salt and pepper.
  2. Preheat your grill for at least 5 minutes then clean and oil the grilling grate.
  3. Forming thick, loosely-packed patties, salting and peppering them on each side, and searing them on your grill keeps the focus on the premium beef. Place patties on grill on, cover and cook for about 2 minutes- you want nice grill marks. Flip and grill for another 2 minutes. Then and allow to continue to cook until the internal temperature reads 140°F is reached for medium.
  4. Set patties on bun bottoms, layering with toppings and condiments of choice, then close burgers and serve.
