Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayFans of the Marvel Studios series Hawkeye got some good news today, as star Jeremy Renner opened up about the possibility of a Hawkeye Season 2.
What is Jeremy Renner’s latest Hawkeye Season 2 update?
Speaking to The Playlist during a recent appearance on their Bingeworthy podcast, Renner opened up about a second season of Hawkeye. Earlier this year, Renner let it slip that a second season was in development, but that he was forced to pass on it due to a salary dispute. However, Renner’s latest comments gave a much more optimistic update on the status of the show.
“We got to where we’re trying to do the second season,” Renner said. “And I think I’ll get strong enough to be able to do it. And we’ll work it out. It’s gonna be great.”
While little is known about a prospective Hawkeye Season 2, Renner did previously say it’s likely the show would continue its holiday themes. Earlier this year, Renner said the idea for the show was always to be framed around the setting of New York City during Christmas.
“For a second season, that was always the idea to continue that narrative, even in the Christmas framework of it all, too, because they love that world in New York,” Renner said. “There’s really no more beautiful place than New York until Christmas. After Christmas is kind of bleak.”
Originally released in 2021, Hawkeye starred Renner and Hailee Steinfeld as Clint Barton and Kate Bishop, respectively. The show was created by Jonathan Igla, with Amber Finlayson & Katie Ellwood, aka Bert and Bertie, and Rhys Thomas serving as directors.
The show was positively received after its premiere, and also saw the return of Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, which in turn led to the subsequent return of most of Daredevil’s cast for Daredevil: Born Again.
