Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayJennifer Lawrence‘s mother spotted a detail in The Hunger Games that even the most eagle-eyed fans missed. During a recent appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Lawrence recalled the “brutal” observation her mother made at The Hunger Games premiere.
Lawrence said, “My mom, at the premiere of The Hunger Games, said she could tell in every scene when I had my period.” Lawrence guessed that her mother noticed changes caused by water retention, adding, “Water retention, I guess.”
Despite the blunt remark, the X-Men: First Class star described her mother as one of her biggest supporters and the first person she turns to with exciting news.
Jennifer Lawrence is reprising her Katniss role in the new Hunger Games movie
Jennifer Lawrence will reprise her role as Katniss Everdeen in the upcoming prequel, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. She will also reunite with Josh Hutcherson, who will reprise his role as Peeta Mellark.
Lawrence also discussed how emotional it was to return to the world of The Hunger Games. Her last appearance in the franchise was in 2015’s The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. She said, “It was so emotional. Josh and I didn’t walk to the bathroom without our arms around each other. It was so beautiful.”
Rumors about Lawrence and Hutcherson returning to reprise their roles began when Suzanne Collins released Sunrise on the Reaping in 2025. The novel’s epilogue revisits Katniss and Peeta after the events of the original series. Haymitch recounts his past to Katniss and Peeta. It is likely that the movie is going to feature the two characters in a similar extended cameo.
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping will hit theaters on November 20, 2026. Joseph Zada stars as the younger Haymitch Abernathy. The ensemble cast also features Jesse Plemons, Ralph Fiennes, Glenn Close, Ben Wang, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, and Mckenna Grace.
