Janelle Monae, Tessa Thompson, and Kara Young walk the red carpet for the premiere of thriller film Is God Is.

Janelle and Kara star in the film alongside Mallori Johnson, Erika Alexander, Mykelti Williamson, Josiah Cross, Vivica A. Fox, and Sterling K. Brown. Tessa is a producer.

The cast attended the New York premiere at Brooklyn Academy of Music on Monday night (April 27) in New York City.

For the premiere, Janelle was wearing the Abodi Transylvania Bow Dress Artefact 12 and carrying the Castle Bag. Kara wore a LaQuan Smith dress with Jimmy Choo shoes and a Judith Leiber purse, plus Alexis Bittar hair accessories.

Amazon shared the following synopsis for the movie, “Twin sisters with disfiguring burn scars are ordered by their bedridden mother to kill their abusive father who caused their scars. They must decide whether to seek vengeance or find mercy.”

It is directed and written by Aleshea Harris, based on her play of the same name.

It will be released theatrically on May 15.
