Our lip scrub is simple to make and only requires 4 ingredients, most of which are probably sitting in your cupboard already!
This scrub combines the typical dry sugar scrub we all know and love with the soothing properties of coconut oil and honey. The coconut oil and honey used in this recipe provide your lips with plenty of moisture that is well needed deep into the chilly winter months (or year-round)!

How to Make Lip Scrub

- First, gently melt your coconut oil. Place in the microwave for 15 seconds. Continue with intervals of 5-10 seconds if it isn’t liquified after the first round.
- In a bowl, add honey, brown sugar, vanilla, and coconut oil. Mix to combine.
- Scoop mixture into jars. Package them into these adorable 4 oz glass jars for safekeeping or gift-giving.
- Your lip scrub will be a runny consistency at first. Give the scrub at least a few hours, if not overnight, to solidify in the jars. Once solidified, mix together with a spoon as the coconut oil will rise to the top and separate.

Does it need to be kept in the fridge?
No, this lip scrub doesn’t need to be kept in the fridge. Though you can certainly refrigerate it if you’d like to, especially if you live in a warmer climate. Be sure the lip scrub is in a dry, cool place with the lid on for keeping.
How long will it keep?
This lip scrub will keep for around 1-2 weeks depending on whether or not you store it in the fridge. Homemade lip scrubs lack the preservatives you find in store-bought scrubs, but remember that you can use this soothing lip scrub daily so it doesn’t go to waste!
What happens if it gets too runny?
If your scrub is overly runny, be sure to move it to a cooler place to help the coconut oil re-solidify. You could also pop it into the refrigerator!
