The 2025 horror flick Wolf Man has recently hit the big screen and fans are wondering if it is connected to the 2020 movie, The Invisible Man. A remake of the 1941 eponymous gothic horror classic, Wolf Man, follows Blake, who, in his attempt to protect his family from a mysterious animal, finds himself slowly turning into a deadly creature.

Here’s everything fans need to know on whether Wolf Man and The Invisible Man are parts of the same Dark Universe franchise.

Is the Wolf Man movie connected to The Invisible Man?

No, The Wolf Man and The Invisible Man do not belong to the same franchise.

Contrary to popular belief, the two are not connected as a part of the same film series and should be treated as individual movies. The only connection that the movies do share is that they are both directed by Leigh Whannell.

Wolf Man serves as the reboot of the 1941 movie of the same name. Meanwhile, The Invisible Man is based on the 1933 film. The latter in turn, is based on the classic sci-fi novel by H.G. Wells. Both movies are a modern reprisal of the iconic Universal Monsters media franchise. However, in itself, they are standalone films.

Initially, Wolf Man was planned to be another installment of the Dark Universe, but the idea was later scrapped. This decision came after the failure of the 2017 reboot of The Mummy. The studio even had ambitions for the Dark Universe as their new cinematic universe that would include these new remakes featuring many notable actors. Unfortunately, the plan failed to establish itself in the long run. (via The Hollywood Reporter)

Overall, there is no narrative connection between Wolf Man and The Invisible Man. Yet, fans can rewatch the latter to get a taste of what Leigh Whannell offers in terms of stylistic choices.
