Bo Staloch has released his new single “I Won’t Be There Waiting For You” via Capitol Records. The Austin-born, Nashville-based singer-songwriter will follow the release with performances at both weekends of Austin City Limits Music Festival, taking the stage in his hometown on October 2 and October 9. The new track centers on a friendship that is coming apart and follows Staloch’s July single “Masks.”

“I Won’t Be There Waiting For You” reunites Staloch with producer Brad Cook, whose credits include Mavis Staples and Waxahatchee. Cook also plays bass on the recording, alongside guitarist Colin Croom of Twin Peaks and drummer Matt McCaughan of Bon Iver, while Staloch contributes guitar and vocals. The song builds toward an extended bridge and instrumental section, with its title reflecting a narrator who insists he will not wait for a departing friend even as the lyrics reveal otherwise.

The single continues a run of new material from Staloch in 2026. He released “From a Different Age” in July after performing the song at Rolling Stone’s Stateside Fourth of July event in New York. That was followed later that month by the aforementioned “Masks,” another collaboration with Cook that also featured Croom and McCaughan. Earlier in the summer, Staloch and fellow Texas singer-songwriter Abby Powledge released their version of “Falling Slowly (Live From London)” after co-headlining an acoustic tour across the U.K. and Europe.

Staloch’s recent releases follow his 2025 EP The Garden, his first EP for Capitol Records. During 2025, he toured with John Vincent III, Houndmouth, and Ashe, opened for Zach Bryan at London’s Hyde Park, and made his Lollapalooza debut. He also launched his first North American headline run that year. Following The Garden, Staloch released “Angelina” with producer Elie Rizk in June 2025, “Born To” with Jackson Shanks and X Ambassadors’ Sam Nelson Harris in August, and “Eastside” with producer Andrew Wells in November.
