Brendan Coyle, Iwan Rheon, and more have joined the cast of the third season of the Has Fallen franchise, Shadow Has Fallen. The upcoming series will follow the previous part of the franchise, Paris Has Fallen, and the also upcoming Apollo Has Fallen. The new season will also be helmed by creator Howard Overman.

Iwan Rheon and more join Shadow Has Fallen

According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, Season 3 of the Has Fallen series has new cast additions in the form of Iwan Rheon, known for Game of Thrones, as well as Black Panther’s Atandwa Kani and Brendan Coyle, who is known for his work in Downton Abbey.

The new cast members will join Tewfik Jallab and Ritu Arya, who will return in Shadow Has Fallen as former agent Vincent Taleb and MI6 operative Zara Taylor, respectively. The season will feature a total of six episodes and is being written by creator Howard Overman. Overman teased the scale of the new season and revealed in a statement, “There’s a scale to Season 3 that we’ve been building towards since Paris Has Fallen.”

He also offered a peek at the story, stating, “Shadow Has Fallen will see Vincent and Zara embark on their most demanding and morally challenging mission – a mission that takes them into the very heart of Southern Africa.”

StudioCanal also announced that filming for the new season has begun in the UK and South Africa. The studio further added that the series “will draw on South Africa’s world-class cast (additional names to be announced), crews and creative talent, further showcasing the country’s capabilities on the global stage.”

The new season will be co-directed by The Lazarus Project’s Marco Kreuzpaintner and The Living and The Dead’s Alice Troughton. Julian Murphy, Johnny Capps, and Overman will executive produce the third season.
