A star from HBO Max‘s Harry Potter TV series will have a bigger role in Season 2. The upcoming show is based on J.K. Rowling‘s celebrated book series about ‘The Boy Who Lived’.

What did Katherine Parkinson say about the Harry Potter TV show?

Katherine Parkinson, who will play Mrs. Weasley in the Harry Potter TV show, recently revealed crucial details on her role. Speaking with People, she mentioned that her presence in the first season will be limited. However, she’ll have a much larger contribution in Season 2. “I haven’t done much yet, I do a lot more on the second series,” she said.

Talking about her experience working on the series, she added, “It’s a great set to be on, and I really like my wig and costume.”

Parkinson was also delighted to work with all the young child actors in the TV series. “I have found those young children just completely enchanting,” she said. In the Harry Potter TV series, Dominic McLaughlin plays the titular character, with Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley alongside Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger. In the movies, these roles were previously brought to life by Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson.

Parkinson said she is extremely happy to be among the young actors “because I’m going to be with them for probably a long time.” The other Weasley family characters will be played by Ruari Spooner, twins Tristan and Gabriel Harland, and Gracie Cochrane.

The show is expected to have a total of seven seasons, with plans already in place to adapt all seven of J.K. Rowling’s books. Francesca Gardiner is the showrunner, with director Mark Mylod as the executive producer. Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, David Heyman, and Rowling are also serving as executive producers, with Hans Zimmer to compose the score.

The Harry Potter TV show is set to release in 2027 on HBO Max.
