One of the stars of Disney+ and Lucasfilm’s Andor series has been cast in Greta Gerwig’s Narnia movie.

Gerwig is adapting C. S. Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia series into a new movie for Netflix that arrives next year. The film is believed to be an adaptation of The Magician’s Nephew and will star Emma Mackey and Carey Mulligan.

Who has joined the cast of Greta Gerwig’s Narnia movie?

Appearing on the We’re Not Kidding with Mehdi & Friends podcast, Andor’s Denise Gough reveals that she’ll be starring in Gerwig’s Narnia.

“I’m doing a film with Greta Gerwig called Narnia,” Gough said. “I’m playing someone mean in that, but it’s fine, it’s to children, it’s okay.”

Further details on Gough’s role are not available at this time.

In addition to playing Dedra Meero in Andor, Gough has had roles on television shows such as Titanic: Blood and Steel, Stella, Guerrilla, Under the Banner of Heaven, Who Is Erin Carter?, The Stolen Girl, and more. Her filmography includes 2010’s Robin Hood, 2018’s Juliet Naked, 2019’s The Kid Who Would Be King, and 2025’s H Is for Hawk, among others.

A description of Lewis’ The Magician’s Nephew reads, “On a daring quest to save a life, two friends are hurled into another world, where an evil sorceress seeks to enslave them. But then the lion Aslan’s song weaves itself into the fabric of a new land, a land that will be known as Narnia. And in Narnia, all things are possible.”

The original Narnia franchise has taken in nearly $1.6 billion worldwide with three feature films: 2005’s The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, 2008’s Prince Caspian, and 2010’s The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. The original starred William Mosely, Anna Popplewell, Skandar Keynes, Georgie Henley, Liam Neeson, Tilda Swinton, James McAvoy, Ben Barnes, Peter Dinklage, and Will Poulter.

Greta Gerwig’s Narnia movie will receive a two-week theatrical IMAX run in November 2026 before it then arrives on Netflix’s streaming service in December.
