‘The Last of Us’ Kills Off Major Character in Shocking Season 2 Episode

Don’t flip a car over this news.

Rockstar Games announced that Grand Theft Auto VI will be delayed until Nov. 19, 2026 so they can ensure they are producing the best game for their fans.

“We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait,” they wrote in a Nov. 6 post on X, “but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.”

The video game publisher thanked their fans for their “patience and support,” adding, “While the wait is a little longer, we are incredibly excited for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern day Vice City.”

This is the second delay for the latest addition to the expansive Grand Theft Auto universe, with GTA VI originally set for release in fall 2025 before being bumped to May 2026 and now to November. The delay means it will be 13 years since a new GTA game was released.

And fans were certainly griping about yet another setback in the game’s release timeline, with one writing in the comments on X, “I PUT A WHOLE WEEK OFF FOR MAY 26th.”

Another joked, “I’ve been waiting so long I no longer care about crime. I’m just paying my taxes and going to bed early now.”

Even brands got in on the fun, with Domino’s replying, “Call us if you need help delivering.”

GTA VI is hardly the first game in the Grand Theft Auto franchise to experience a long delay since the first game in the series was released in 1997.

Grand Theft Auto III was delayed in 2001 following the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center while Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was delayed by seven days in 2002 so they could produce more discs to meet fan demand.

Both Grand Theft Auto IV and V were also delayed, with IV moving from October 2006 to April 2008 and V coming out eight months after its original release date in 2013.
