The Boys franchise may have announced plans to expand beyond the imminent conclusion of the original show with Season 5, but one Gen V star seems to have already bid adieu to the Prime Video series. Jaz Sinclair, who portrayed Marie Moreau in the now-canceled Boys spin-off, took to social media to share a lengthy farewell message, despite creator Eric Kripke having teased a continuation of her character’s story a few days back.

Jaz Sinclair pens goodbye message for Marie after The Boys Season 5 cameo

On May 13, shortly after making a brief appearance in The Boys Season 5 Episode 7, the 31-year-old actress dropped an emotional note regarding her exit from the franchise on social media.

“My first audition for Gen V was January of 2021,” Jaz Sinclair wrote on Instagram, adding, “When I got the call (after 5 more auditions) I screamed and cried and jumped up and down. I felt the kind of head to toe excitement that you only feel when something is all the way right.”

“I can’t possibly sum up the last 5 years of joys, challenges, loss, laughter, late nights, and friendships in a post,” Sinclair continued. “But what I will say is that I am truly honored to have gotten to be your Marie. She is fierce and flawed and powerful as hell. And as a woman, particularly a woman of color it brings me so much pride to have gotten to embody such a multifaceted and badass character.”

The Gen V lead concluded her heartfelt message by thanking her fans and giving a nod to her late co-star, Chance Perdomo.

Notably, Jaz Sinclair chose to upload the farewell post despite The Boys creator Eric Kripke’s recent comments about wanting to continue Gen V, as well as Marie Moreau’s arc. In a recent sit-down, the veteran producer confirmed that Season 2 did not end her story and that “at least some of the Gen V gang” have the potential to return in future Boys spin-offs.

Meanwhile, The Boys is currently airing its fifth and final installment, with the season finale set to premiere on May 20, 2026.
