French DJ Kavinsky, whose real name was Vincent Belorgey, has passed away at the age of 50.

The music guru, known for his track “Nightcall,” was found deceased at his home in Paris on Tuesday (July 28). As of right now, no cause of death has been made publicly available.

He also memorably performed at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics. You may remember that “Nightcall” was famously used in the movie Drive.

France’s culture minister, a woman named Catherine Pégard, shared a post to confirm his passing.

She wrote, “With Kavinsky’s sudden departure France loses one of its most unique voices. From the movie ‘Drive’ to the Paris Olympics, the whole world enjoyed ‘Nightcall.’ Danceable and nostalgic at the same time, his music will continue to resonate across borders and different generations.”
