▪️ French publisher Catch Up Games will release a tiny expansion for Grégory Grard and Mathieu Roussel's Castle Combo in November 2025.

Château Combo: Au cachot! ("To the Dungeons!) consists of only twelve cards, with some featuring a padlocked effect that you can unlock by spending a key, thereby delaying the effect until it helps you the most, such as the one below that copies the effect of an adjacent card. Two cards have three shields, and new scoring conditions are present.

▪️ Grard is also the co-author, along with Fred Boulle, of Viva Catrina, a 2-6 player game due out in October 2025 from The Flying Games:
Immerse yourself in the festive and colorful atmosphere of Mexico's Día de los Muertos, where traditions, joyful spirits, and fantastical creatures come together to honor the departed under the watchful eye of La Catrina.

Viva Catrina offers a strategic tile-laying experience in which each tile you place shapes the growth of your village. Each turn, you'll carefully choose from the available tiles, create paths to connect butterflies and visitors, build pedestals to attract chimeras, and launch balloon flights to maximize your points.

Efficiently constructing a connected network is key: a poorly placed tile could block your paths or make your objectives unreachable. Racing for chimeras and balloon tiles adds a light, but constant tension. The game flows smoothly, and the real satisfaction comes from watching your village expand and come to life throughout the game.

▪️ Another November 2025 release is Dingo Disc, with this Pierre Tessier design for 2-6 players having first appeared in 2013 from Éditions Capucine and returning to the market courtesy of Blackrock Games.

Here's an overview:
Dingo Disc is a game of skill, balance, strategy, and luck in which players must place all of their counters on a balanced disk without dropping the counters that have already been placed.

On a turn, you roll two dice: the color die determines the colored area of the disk where you must place, and the number die the location within that area. Whoever places all of their counters first wins — and any player who spills all the counters off the disk automatically loses.

▪️ We haven't even hit Gen Con 2025, but some publishers are already teasing 2026 releases, as with French publisher Space Cowboys, which has posted some images and a bit of info for Dewan, a 2-4 player game from Johannes Goupy and Yoann Levet that's due out on January 23, 2026:
"Our territory was limited, and resources were scarce, we marched from camp to camp in pursuit of victory." —Traditional Dewan song

Dewan is a fast-paced, competitive area-placement game that features racing, placement, and hand strategy. During play, you collect terrain cards and spend them to strategically place your camps on the territory. Make the best use of terrain and resources so that you can satisfy the requirements on your story tiles. Along the way, gather berries and master fire to earn additional points.

▪️ And for the younger kids, Space Cow has a Splendor spinoff in the works from Catherine and Marc André: Splendor Kids, which you can see in this post on Spiele-Akademie.de.
