Care to see the Final Jeopardy clue for today, Tuesday, July 1? Both the question and answer has been placed below. At this point from yesterday’s episode, we’ve had one-day Jeopardy champions for twelve episodes now, which does beg the question of whether we really need the rule that allows champions to go past five days when it’s barely possible nowadays. At any rate, compliance consultant Dave McBride will seek to defend his title (and $22,401) in tonight’s match against real estate agent Jason Singer from Maine and product support manager Heather Kompanek from New York. Here’s the question and answer for Final Jeopardy for 7/1/2025, not to mention the wagers and the winner of the game too.

Final Jeopardy Question for July 1

The Final Jeopardy question for July 1, 2025 is in the category of “Buried at Westminster” and has the following clue:

In 1991 he became the first actor in over 85 years to be interred in Poets’ Corner & rests near Shakespeare’s memorial

The correct answer to this history and poetry question can be found in the last section of this article.

Final Jeopardy Wagers and Winner for July 1

Extend the new champion streak to 13, because Jason came out ahead in the July 1 match. He was among two contestants who got the Final Jeopardy clue correct.

After finding both Daily Doubles in the second round, Jason had $17,800 heading into the final segment. His correct response earned him an extra $4,601, leaving him with $22,401 for first.

Heather was able to catch him with $11,200, but she only bet a very conservative $4,000 (not enough to catch Jason if he got it wrong). She also got the clue right and left in second with $15,200.

Returning champion Dave didn’t have as much luck and only had $6,000. He lost $1,300 on his guess of “Yorrick” and left in third with $4,700.

Final Jeopardy Answer for July 1

The correct answer for Final Jeopardy on July 1, 2025 is “Who is Laurence Olivier?”

This clue covers a lot of categories, so there are many ways to get this right. British actor Laurence Olivier is well-known for his work in Shakespearean theater and on screen. Not only did he win an Oscar, 5 BAFTAs, 5 Emmy Awards, and 4 Golden Globes, but he also earned a knighthood in 1947 and a life peerage as Baron in 1970. Because of his contribution, his ashes were buried in Westminster Abbey alongside David Garrick and Sir Henry Irving in Poets’ Corner. Actor Kenneth Branagh portrayed Sir Laurence Olivier in My Week With Marilyn in 2011.
