Makeup artist Peter Philips has spent decades watching skin perform under pressure, from runway lighting and red carpets to the unforgiving proximity of a camera lens held inches from the face. The two foundations he has developed for Dior’s 2026 relaunch of its Forever line are built from exactly that knowledge, designed to hold up where makeup is most exposed and most scrutinised.

Skin Glow, the luminous formula, centres on a patented highly reflective oil that diffuses light across the face rather than sitting on its surface. High-coverage pigments and perfecting powders work beneath that to create a soft-focus effect that reads as natural radiance from any angle, while polymers and a volatile ingredient form a micro-film that maintains wear through heat and humidity without any loss of that bare-skin feeling. Threaded through the formula is a serum-grade complex of hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and a skin-structuring peptide, which together deliver measurable improvements to bare skin after just one week.

Skin Wear, the matte counterpart, addresses something most foundations fail at – the powdery drift that accumulates as the day progresses. A polymer mesh holds two micro-powders in suspension, one absorbing shine and the other creating an optical blurring effect, so the finish stays breathable and transfer-resistant without ever tipping into cakey territory. The same triple-action serum complex runs through it.

Both arrive in 45 shades developed through analysis of over 500 skin tones and refined during shade-matching sessions with more than 330 women, with a new LVMH-developed pigment incorporated specifically to serve deeper complexions with greater accuracy. Anya Taylor-Joy, Willow Smith, and Jisoo front the campaign, shot close-up and unretouched, which, given what these foundations are built to do, is precisely the point.
