After calling The Boys‘ final minutes “pathetic,” Elon Musk criticized showrunner Eric Kripke. He recently welcomed the billionaire’s verdict, who later revealed that he hadn’t actually watched the show.

Elon Musk criticizes Eric Kripke

It all started when Elon Musk initially expressed his disappointment with how The Boys treated Homelander‘s fate in the final moments of Season 5, Episode 8. He was seen pleading for his life, even offering sexual favors, before Billy Butcher killed him.

Musk had replied to this scene, saying it was “pathetic.” However, showrunner Erick Kripke couldn’t resist reacting to the richest man in the world. Embracing his response, Kripke mentioned that he “couldn’t get a better review” than what Musk gave with his one-word verdict.

Surprisingly, Musk later took a shot at The Boys showrunner Kripke over how he treated Homelander’s character arc. Replying to a user in the comments, he wrote, “Kripke probably got flack from his wife’s bf for Homelander being used in based memes and had to write that ending as a groveling apology.” Not only that, he then took this reaction to reply to Kripke as well, while revealing, “I didn’t watch the show tbh Here’s the second best review:”

Speaking more of Musk, he is yet to make a comment on one of the strangest characters introduced in The Boys finale. Fans saw a tech mogul, named Gunter Van Ellis, who was also obsessed with all things space. His appearance struck a lot of similarities with Musk.

As of late, The Boys finale has attracted a lot of reactions online, mostly from fans who didn’t like the ending for various reasons. Gen V viewers were left upset over how the show treated the spin-off series’ characters. In Gen V, Marie Moreau was hyped up as someone who would kill Homelander. But that didn’t happen at all in the ending.

Then there was the situation of misleading posters shared by The Boys’ team on social media. Fans argued that several posters promised a massive level of destruction. However, the actual episode didn’t really deliver on that.

The Boys Season 5 is now streaming with all eight episodes on Prime Video.
