Doja Cat is Nearly Unrecognizable With Blonde Hair at Met Gala 2026

Doja Cat wants to paint the town red—without having to worry about work.

Following the release of her latest album Vie last September, the 30-year-old has been mulling over a prolonged break from music after she finishes the deluxe tracks and her tour.

“I think I want to take three years off,” she told Elle in an interview on May 14. “I want to just do whatever.”

As for what “whatever” entails, the “Kiss Me More” artist—whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini—had a few ideas, saying, “I might do another mural. I’m going to furnish this whole upper area of my house because there’s literally nothing in here and there’s been nothing in here for four years or five. So, that’s bizarre.”

But in the meantime, Doja has been busy performing on her Tour Ma Vie World Tour, which started last November. Taking a brief break from the road, she attended this year’s Met Gala, sporting a Grecian-inspired, nude silicone gown from Saint Laurent as well as a blonde new ‘do.

And she has quite a few tour dates left, with the European leg beginning on May 19 in Dublin, Ireland. The “Say So” singer doesn’t seem to mind though, as she is a bit of an Anglophile.

“One of my favorite places to perform is London,” she explained to Elle. “I feel like that’s a really good crowd and people know how to engage and enjoy. Nobody feels self-conscious and it just seems to be a really enthusiastic crowd.”

Although touring can be exhausting, the “Need to Know” rapper revealed that she does love one part: the fashion.

“I just really put my all into each look every night,” she detailed. “I like to think about the hair and the make-up, marry it together, be poetic and meaningful, do something personal to each location.”

And after walking the red carpet, she changed into a tan slit gown with a similar studded texture to accept her award for Best Pop Duo or Group performance with SZA. The acceptance was slightly delayed by a bathroom break. The "Get Into It (Yuh)" singer ran to the stage out of breath, telling the audience, "I have never taken such a fat piss in my whole life."

"I really appreciate it," Doja said of the win. "Thank you to everybody, my family, my team, I wouldn't be here without you and I wouldn't be here without my fans."
