Days of Our Lives is rolling out the welcome mat for a new face with a familiar name. Actor Hank Northrop is joining the long-running NBC/Peacock soap this week, marking an exciting new chapter both for him and the Carver family storyline.

Hank Northrop’s new character to debut on Days of Our Lives this week

According to Soap Opera Digest, Hank Northrop hits our screens on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, as Liam Selejko, a new character who’s about to make things interesting for Abe Carver, played by James Reynolds.

Liam shows up as Abe’s literacy mentee, but things will get out of control when Abe and Theo find out he used to bully Theo back in high school. This revelation will build tension between the three all week long. Liam’s storyline will focus on second chances and forgiveness. Despite the rough history between Liam and his son, Abe decides to mentor him anyway.

Northrop carries a legacy of his own. He’s the son of Wayne Northrop, who originated the role of Roman Brady, and Lynn Herring, best known for her stint as Lucy Coe on General Hospital. Talking about his parents, Northrop shared that they tried to keep him and his younger brother Grady away from the entertainment business.

They “loved” their work but knew how tough it could be, so they wanted their kids to choose their own “path.” Northrop said he always looked up to his dad. “He was my hero, still is to this day, and forever will be, so in the back of my mind, I always thought, ‘I know they don’t want me to be an actor, but I want to follow in his footsteps.’”

Fans expect Liam’s gig to be short-term but pivotal, though in Salem, nothing ever stays short-term if fans love it. If viewers connect with him, we might just see a lot more of Liam down the road.

Now that Northrop’s officially followed in his dad’s footsteps to Days of Our Lives, he says his mom couldn’t be more excited. In an interview with TV Insider, he said Lynn Herring was over the moon about his new gig and made sure he was fully prepped before day one. She shared plenty of advice, behind-the-scenes wisdom, and pep talks.
