Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayBill Hader, Kristen Wiig and Fred Armisen Channel 'The Californians' 'SNL' Skit
Live from New York it's, well, none of these Saturday Night Live alum.
While 30 Rock's Studio 8H was packed with just about everyone in the show's illustrious history—Pete Davidson, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Adam Sandler, Eddie Murphy, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph, Will Ferrell, Kate McKinnon, John Mulaney, Bill Murray, Steve Martin and Kristen Wiig, just to name a few—for the sketch comedy's 50th anniversary special Feb. 16, there were some notable names missing in action.
Take, for instance, Dan Aykroyd, who was an original cast member on the show, starring in seasons one through four from 1975 to 1979.
Though he was absent from the crowd, the 72-year-old did give a shout out to the celebration.
"Cracking a Head with pride at having been a co-founder of SNL along with everyone we were together with in those four years, five decades ago," he wrote on X Feb. 14. "This telecast is as historical as the next moon landing. Comedy stars of our age all gathered under the aegis of America’s greatest living impresario, my boss Lorne Michaels. People it’s friggin’ Holy!!"
Other stars not in attendance for the epic celebration included Dana Carvey, Colin Quinn and Bill Hader, much to the dismay of fans.

"bill hader not being in the snl 50 feels so wrong," one user wrote while another added, "the only thing that couldve made this better is bill hader."
Reasoned a third fan, "You have to understand, Bill Hader isn’t at #SNL50 because he’s the designated survivor."
And while he did not return for Weekend Update as Stefon, the 46-year-old recently did reprise a favorite character.
For a Volkswagen commercial, Hader (as Devin) joined Wiig (as Karina) and Fred Armisen (as Stuart) to bring back "The Californians," the SoCal trio who parody a soap opera.

"Devin, thanks for meeting me at Malibu beach off the 1," Wiig said in her exaggerated Valley girl accent for the spot. "I've really missed you."
And when Hader replied with, "You saw me this morning in Marina Del Rey," Wigg quipped back, "But not in Malibu beach."
Cue Armisen, who crashes the moment to ask, "What are you doing here?"
