Craig Melvin is speaking out for the first time following the security incident at the Today show on Thursday morning (July 16).

If you didn’t see, it was reported an intruder got inside the studio at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City and lunged at the 47-year-old host while hurling a racial slur.

Hours later, Craig took to Instagram to address the situation.

“Hey everyone. I’ve heard from so many of you over the last few hours,” Craig wrote. “I’m doing just fine. Thanks for reaching out. I’m looking forward to seeing you tomorrow morning on Today.”

Craig is expected to be back on air on Today on Friday, July 17. He has a previously announced vacation planned to begin on Monday, July 20.

NBC also released a statement addressing the security incident, noting that no one was injured.
