‘Southern Charm’s’ Craig Conover Grilled About Paige DeSorbo in Reunion Trailer

Craig Conover is sharing new details about the phone call that changed everything for him.

The aftermath of the Southern Charm star's devastating breakup from Paige DeSorbo played out in real time during the Bravo series' season 10 finale.

The footage—shot in January 2025 about a month after the Summer House star ended their three year relationship—documented an emotional Craig telling BFFs Austen Kroll and Shep Rose exactly how the breakup went down for the very first time.

"Paige and I had a great Thanksgiving together," the Sewing Down South founder recounted to his costars during the March 20 episode. "Everything was normal at her parents, like our chemistry and everything. Then a couple weeks later she called me and was like, 'We gotta talk.'"

Craig revealed the breakup talk occurred before Christmas.

"I was like, 'I can't believe this is happening," the 36-year-old continued. "And it was really calm. She was like, 'I need to find myself.' And she's like, 'I have to take control of my life again and we need to break up.'"

Craig explained why he waited so long to personally tell Shep and Austen the sad news.

"When it happened, the only people that I wanted to tell was you guys," he noted, "but the truth is, I couldn't let it get out yet and it was a bummer because I was like, 'I don't know if I can tell Austen, and him and not say something?'"

And when Shep asked, "So, were you waiting for her to go public with all this?," Craig confirmed it, adding, "I wasn't gonna f--king say anything because I didn't want it to be real."

In fact, Craig was especially dumbfounded given he and Paige, 32, were planning to get engaged prior to their split.

"She asked me to buy her a ring and I did," the Pillows and Beer podcast cohost explained. "I went to New York and designed this whole ring."

But then their dynamic started to change.

"Then she was like, 'Actually, hold off,'" the Charleston native added. "Looking back, maybe that was her starting to panic or freak out. It's tough because I offered to move to New York like she asked me and to raise kids in Manhattan and she was like, 'You'll resent me forever if you have to live this life in New York.'"

And while Paige previously credited being in different places in their lives as the reason behind her decision to end the relationship, Craig noted to Shep and Austen, "I just think it's so rare for a love to come around. We were best friends, we loved each other, we had a great sex life. We just checked so many boxes."

"'How are we giving this up?'" he concluded. "It's weird to mourn someone that is still alive."

Hear more details about the breakup when Southern Charm's two-part reunion kicks off Thursday, March 27, at 8 p.m. on Bravo. In the meantime, keep reading to look back at Craig and Paige's relationship timeline.

Putting Breakup Rumors to Rest

Amid online speculation that the couple had broken up, Craig shut down the breakup rumors.

Following months of split speculation, Paige announced over the 2024 holidays that she and Craig had officially split after three years of dating.

“No one did anything. It wasn’t a bad thing,” Paige said during her Dec. 30 Giggly Squad podcast episode. “I think we both were just being really mature and saying what we want and what we didn’t want, and I think that’s extremely powerful to be able to voice how you’re feeling in real time and what you want for your future.”

The influencer also shot down rumors of cheating between her and the Southern Charm star and insisted the parting of ways was amicable.

“I think he is one of the best people I’ve met in my entire life,” Paige continued.  “I will remain the biggest fan of him and want the best for him, and he truly will get the best because he is the best.”

Craig Conover Addresses the Split

Over a week after the breakup news went public, Craig shared his side of the story.

"This has all been very, very unexpected, to say the least," Craig said in a video shared to Instagram Jan. 7. "I was very shocked and it's ok, it takes two people to be in a relationship. You can't control other people you can only control how you react to it."

That said, Craig also wants everyone to extend grace to his now-ex.

"I'm still processing everything, which is normal, I mean, three-year relationship, it's your best friend who you talk to all day, every day and then they're just gone," he noted. "So one day I'll be able to talk more on it but right now I just wanted to thank everyone for their kind messages."
