Chase Stokes is sporting a new look these days!

After sporting a clean-shaven look for all five seasons on Outer Banks, the 33-year-old actor recently decided to grow out a beard.

While appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night (August 18), Chase explained why he decided to let his facial hair grow out.

“I love the beard by the way,” Fallon said. “This is legit. You’re a stud.”

“I’m grown up now!” Chase quipped back.

“Is this for that NASCAR thing that you’re doing?” Fallon asked Chase, who confirmed, “It is.”

If you didn’t see the news, it was announced in June that Chase will be starring opposite Dennis Quaid in the new NASCAR drama series Thunder Road, which is filming this summer and will premiere next year on AMC and AMC+.

Chase admitted that before signing on for the new show, he didn’t have any racing experience, but similar to his lack of boating skills prior to filming Outer Banks, he went full speed ahead to learn.

“As actors, we just say ‘yes’ to everything,” he said with a laugh. “Nobody with me, they just, they just send me down the track… it was kind of badass.”
