Brad Pitt is constantly making the headlines with his new film, F1. Recently, Pitt shared a behind-the-scenes story about a method acting attempt that went wrong. During a podcast appearance, he recalled a hilarious on-set incident involving beans, flatulence, and a fleeing film crew.

Here’s what Pitt revealed about the moment, the reaction, and how it still follows him today.

Brad Pitt recalls hilarious set incident from method acting gone wrong

Brad Pitt appeared on the New Heights podcast with NFL players Jason and Travis Kelce, where he recounted an early-career mishap involving method acting. The story involved one of his first films, a small independent project set in a cramped, overheated cafe with around 60 crew members. Pitt’s character had not eaten in days, and for the scene, he was required to eat a plate of beans and bacon.

Pitt explained, “I was all like, Method, you know? I was like, yeah, I’m going to do this right. I just powered down this plate of beans.” He repeated the action across multiple takes, eating four full plates. “Then oh no. Something hit me,” Pitt said. “There was nothing I could do. I was stuck in this chair. And nature took its course.”

As Pitt recalled, the reaction was immediate. “Suddenly the entire crew… the most diabolical something… something descended on the crew in the whole room and they fled the cafe,” he said, prompting laughter from the Kelce brothers. Pitt concluded the anecdote with, “That’s a confession you’ve heard first, right here. And ever since then, I pace myself.”

Despite this early incident, Pitt became known for his on-screen eating, with YouTube compilations such as “15 Minutes of Brad Pitt Eating” amassing millions of views. During a podcast, he expressed his confusion over why food became such a defining aspect, noting that everyone eats.

Currently, Pitt stars in the film F1 as driver Sonny Hayes. The movie opened to a $144 million global debut, making it Apple’s largest theatrical launch. According to reports, sequel talks are already underway. Pitt discussed his admiration for sports films on the podcast, referencing Hoosiers, The Natural, and his own Moneyball, saying, “It’s really an amazing metaphor for a lifetime.”
