Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by Adpathway‘A Simple Favor 2’ Director Addresses Blake Lively, Anna Kendrick Feud Rumors Delaying Release
Blake Lively has just one more request for Anna Kendrick…
A Simple Favor’s sequel, Another Simple Favor, is quickly approaching, and the upcoming film dropped a brand-new trailer ahead of its March 7 premiere at South by Southwest (SXSW) film and TV festival.
In the Feb. 26 trailer, Anna’s character, Stephanie Smothers, is interrupted at a reading of a novel she seemingly wrote, The Faceless Blonde, by Blake’s Emily Nelson.
“I think about her all the time, the faceless blonde I thought I knew,” Stephanie reads as Blake’s Emily walks in. “Was she a glamorous PR executive? Or a cold-blooded killer?”
Blake’s character, wearing one of her signature campy menswear looks, smiles and says, “Boo.”
To which Anna’s character responds, “Did you break out of prison?”
Then, Blake’s Emily eerily whispers into the microphone, “Will you be my maid of honor?”
Naturally, the chaos ensues from there, with Stephanie seemingly agreeing to the task and joining Emily at her wedding in Italy.
Tension builds between the trailer’s sharp cuts and voiceovers, with one from Blake adding, “Do you think I invited you to get revenge? For stealing my life and taking my kid away from me? You think I want to make you pay?”
Anna’s Stephanie somewhat breaks the suspense, deadpanning, “I don’t know, do you?”
Then, the scene cuts back to Emily and Stephanie at her book reading, with Emily teasing, “If I do try to murder you, it would make an amazing sequel.”
The new trailer comes amid Blake’s turbulent legal battle with It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni. And while fans have speculated that Blake’s personal and professional relationships are in jeopardy because of her back-and-forth with Justin, a source told E! News earlier this month that when it comes to Blake and Anna’s relationship, “There is no drama. They are not enemies. They are coworkers; friends and get along well.”

Meanwhile, Another Simple Favor’s director Paul Feig stood by Blake shortly after she released her initial complaint against Justin in late December.
“I’ve now made two movies with Blake and all I can say is she’s one of the most professional, creative, collaborative, talented and kind people I’ve ever worked with,” Paul wrote on X Dec. 22. “She truly did not deserve any of this smear campaign against her. I think it’s awful she was put through this.”
The director later slammed that any bad blood was brewing on the set of the forthcoming sequel between Blake and Anna, therefore stalling its premiere.
“This is total BS, sorry,” Paul wrote in a Jan. 10 post on X, quoting a since-deleted post detailing gossip surrounding Blake and Anna. “The movie is finished and coming out soon. Don’t believe anything you read on social media these days.”
For Anna’s part, she even teased what is to come for the sequel, telling E! News in September, “Paul has really done an incredible job of making this movie even crazier.”
Another Simple Favor will officially premiere next month at SXSW and will be available to stream on Amazon’s Prime Video May 1. Keep reading for more movies coming in 2025....
