Billy Joel is reassuring fans about his health following his normal pressure hydrocephalus diagnosis (NPH).

The 77-year-old “Piano Man” singer opened up about how he’s currently doing while speaking with a fan during his first-ever live call-in show on SiriusXM’s The Billy Joel Channel.

After the caller told Billy she was glad to hear that he was doing well, he acknowledged that fans have been concerned about his health.

“Yeah, I am. I know people are worried about me because they read that I have a brain disorder, which sounds a lot worse than it actually is,” Billy said.

“I’m okay. My balance isn’t that good. Lost a little bit of my hearing, but that may have to do with my age, too, and the rock and roll life and the loud volume probably didn’t help,” he continued.

However, Billy emphasized that fans shouldn’t be overly concerned about him.

“I’m fine. I want people to not have to worry about me. I’m okay,” he said.

The health update came during “Questions and Answers… With a Little Music Too,” Billy‘s first-ever live call-in show, which aired on The Billy Joel Channel on September 24.

Billy was diagnosed with NPH in 2025. At the time, it was announced that the condition had caused problems with his hearing, vision and balance and that he would undergo physical therapy.

He subsequently canceled all of his scheduled concerts while prioritizing his recovery.

Earlier this month, Billy revealed that he underwent surgery to have a shunt placed in his brain to help treat the condition.

During another recent health update, Billy similarly reassured fans, saying, “Don’t worry about me, I’m not going anywhere. I’m here. I’m still here.”
