Titled “The Way Home,” NBC’s Brilliant Minds Season 2 finale was directed by DeMane Davis. The teleplay was written by Michael Grassi and Sara Saedi, based on a story by Laura Craig. In the series finale (Season 2, Episode 20), Wolf and Josh’s relationship is tested on a personal case, while Carol and Thorne handle a medical mystery about a patient with a big secret.
The show was led by Quinto as Dr. Wolf, a brilliant neurologist who solves puzzling psychological cases by seeing his patients as people first. The cast also included Teddy Sears, Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alexander MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Donna Murphy, Al Calderon, John Clarence Stewart, and Brian Altemus. The finale also featured several guest stars such as Ed Begley Jr., Sarah Steele, Anne Archer, Amanda Walsh, and more.

Brilliant Minds was executive-produced and created by showrunner Michael Grassi. Executive producers were Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Lee Toland Krieger, Andy Serkis, Jonathan Cavendish, Will Tennant, and DeMane Davis. The show’s debut season received an 88% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
