Former Women’s Champion Bayley came face to face with rising star Roxanne Perez on the latest edition of WWE NXT. Last week on WWE NXT New Year’s Evil, Roxanne Perez faced Giulia for her NXT Women’s Title.

Giulia defeated Roxanne Perez to win the NXT Women’s Title, ending Perez’s 276-day reign. Perez, who defended the title nine times, proudly mentioned her efforts to elevate women’s wrestling. Despite her loss, she congratulated Giulia, acknowledging her as the better competitor.

However, Roxanne Perez criticized the women’s division, claiming it will not thrive without her. She doubted Giulia’s ability to elevate the title and believed no one could represent the division with the same passion. As Perez continued her rant, Bayley, the former WWE Women’s Champion, interrupted her.

Bayley told Roxanne Perez that the NXT Women’s Division would be fine without her. Perez fired back, accusing Bayley of being just like the role models she once admired, like CM Punk and Natalya. Then, Perez questioned her presence on the show, stating that she had broken the records she had set, and offered to be Bayley’s role model instead.

She responded that Perez would remain in NXT while she headed to WrestleMania after beating Tiffany Stratton this Friday on WWE SmackDown. The two clashed, with Perez slapping Bayley, leading to a brawl as the show ended. Bayley has now explained why she confronted Perez on the black and gold brand.
