Amanda Hirsch took to Instagram on Sunday (September 6) to issue an apology about a recent brand partnership.
The Not Skinny But Not Fat and Get Real podcast host incorporated the Lindsay Clancy trial into an ad for a betting platform.
After it was revealed that the trial ended in a mistrial, Amanda posted, per Variety, “On Polymarket it was predicted the verdict would be Not Guilty. Are you surprised? #Polymarketpartner.”
Her post was swiftly met with a lot of backlash, and she has since deleted the reel from her page, leading to an apology shared on Sunday.

Amanda Hirsch issues apology over betting platform ad
“Posting about the Lindsay Clancy trial in the same breath as a brand partnership was completely insensitive, wrong, and out of character for me — I should have known better, and I feel sick that I didn’t see that in the moment. As a mom, this case has really affected me. I’ve been following it so closely, talking about it constantly, and feeling heartbroken over every part of it. I became so consumed by the trial that I completely lost perspective and didn’t stop to think about how grossly inappropriate it was to discuss something this tragic in that context. I made a terrible judgement call and I feel so f***ing awful about that. I know deleting it doesn’t erase it. Believe me, I’m horrified by the choice I made and please know this lapse in judgement does not represent who I am as a person. I am so deeply sorry.” – Amanda Hirsch, via Instagram
The week before, Amanda posted a lengthy message on her Instagram about the trial, captioning the post, “The Lindsay Clancy trial has consumed me. I think it’s touched all of us in different places and definitely started a much needed conversation, but I fear somewhere along the way, many have lost the plot. I’m anxiously awaiting the verdict, but felt compelled to share my thoughts!”

Since the Lindsay Clancy trial was declared a mistrial by the judge, that doesn’t mean her case is over. It still remains active, and a new trial will take place down the line.
