Noah Hawley on if Alien: Earth will end after Season 5
While speaking with Empire Magazine, Hawley spoke about his plans for the future of the upcoming Alien show. He also touched on the rumors that suggest that Alien: Earth could run for five seasons. (via ComicBook.com)
Revealing that he has yet to outline the specifics of how the project will proceed after the first season, Hawley noted, “I don’t have it mapped out in any linear way, but I do have the larger arc of it.” Hawley then highlighted the importance of being aware of how a series will end before commencing work on it by saying, “If you don’t know how it ends, how can you know what it means?”
Hawley’s comments suggest that although he has mapped an outline for the Alien show, he still has a lot of creative decisions to make when it comes to the future of the series. It remains to be seen whether the Alien: Earth series will lay the groundwork for a five-season plot within its first season. However, Hawley’s statements present the possibility that the first season could end on a cliffhanger or a lead-in to the next season.
Alien: Earth will be the first time that the beloved science-fiction franchise, which has spanned nine films so far, will have a live-action series expanding its universe. Led by the likes of Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, and Essie Davis, among others, the much-awaited television series will make its debut on August 12, 2025.
