A new update confirms the release date for Alice in Borderland Season 3, which is officially set to premiere on Netflix this year. Following the massive global success of Season 2, the announcement comes alongside a chilling teaser trailer that teases a return to deadly games and psychological twists. If the new footage is any indication, the high-stakes survival saga is far from over.

Alice in Borderland Season 3 gets September release date with first trailer

Netflix has confirmed that Alice in Borderland Season 3 will premiere globally on Thursday, September 25, 2025. The streamer also released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming season, offering a preview of the series’ return to high-stakes survival gameplay.

Season 3 picks up after Arisu (Kento Yamazaki) and Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya) have returned to the real world with no memory of the Borderland. Now married and living peacefully, their reality is disrupted by haunting visions and hallucinations. Usagi vanishes after encountering Ryuji (Kento Kaku), a researcher obsessed with the afterlife. At the same time, Banda (Hayato Isomura) presents Arisu with the final card: the Joker.

This season introduces the “Joker” stage, a new level in the twisted realm, as Arisu teams up with new players in a desperate attempt to rescue Usagi and uncover the truth. Returning cast members include Isomura, Ayaka Miyoshi, and Katsuya Maiguma. New cast additions are Hiroyuki Ikeuchi, Koji Ohkura, Kotaro Daigo, Risa Sudou, Tina Tamashiro, Hyunri, and Kaku.

Directed by Shinsuke Sato and based on Haro Aso’s manga, the third season is co-written by Sato and Yasuko Kuramitsu. The production team includes composer Yutaka Yamada and cinematographer Taro Kawazu. Production designers Iwao Saito and Shin Nakayama join alongside VFX supervisor Atsushi Doi. The show is produced by Robot, with production support from The Seven.

Alice in Borderland became Netflix Japan’s most-watched title following Season 2’s debut in December 2022. The series remains a key part of Netflix’s growing investment in Japanese live-action productions.
