Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayA24 has shared the official trailer for Pillion, the upcoming BDSM romance dramedy, starring Alexander Skarsgård (Big Little Lies, Succession) and Harry Melling (Harry Potter, The Queen’s Gambit). The movie had its world premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Un Certain Regard section’s Best Screenplay award.
“In the film, a timid man (Melling) is swept off his feet when an enigmatic, impossibly handsome biker (Skarsgård) takes him on as his submissive,” reads the movie’s official synopsis.

Who made and stars in Pillion?
Pillion is written and directed by Harry Lighton, based on Adam Mars-Jones’ 2020 novel titled Box Hill. This marks Lighton’s feature-length directorial debut, after previously receiving recognition for his 2017 short film Wren Boys. The cast also includes Lesley Sharp as Peggy, Douglas Hodge as Pete, Anthony Welsh as Darren, Jake Shears as Kevin, Jake Sharp as Shigs, Georgina Hellier as Rhys, and more. Since its world premiere, the movie has received a perfect Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 27 reviews.
The movie is executive-produced by Skarsgård, Clare Binns, Mark Gooder, Pim Hermeling, Louise Ortega, Alison Thompson, Christian Vesper, and Eva Yates. Producers are Lee Groombridge, Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, and Emma Norton. The creative team consists of director of photography Nick Morris, editor Gareth C. Scales, production designer Francesca Massariol, costume designer Grace Snell, art director Katherine Black, and composer Oliver Coates.
Skarsgård was most recently seen in Apple TV+’s newest sci-fi comedy Murderbot, which has already been renewed for a second season. After Pillion, he’s also working on another A24 movie titled The Moment, which is a mockumentary about a popstar headlining her first tour. He will be starring alongside Charli XCX and Rosanna Arquette.
