From collaborating with residents and attending physicians to caring for critically ill patients, no two days in the ED are ever the same. #emergencymedicine #johnshopkinsmedicine #physicianassistant A typical day in their lives consists of: -Collaborating with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, physical therapists, and specialty services -Triaging and screening patients upon arrival to the Emergency Department to identify urgent medical needs and prioritize care. -Managing the department’s observation unit, providing ongoing monitoring and treatment for patients awaiting discharge or inpatient admission. -Evaluating patients referred from across the region for complex eye emergencies, with the opportunity to work alongside the expert ophthalmology team at the Wilmer Eye Institute -Evaluating and managing critically ill patients while responding to rapidly changing clinical situations -Performing focused histories and physical examinations while developing differential diagnoses and treatment plans Follow along to see what a day in the life of an Emergency Medicine PA looks like at JHH.
