1000-Lb. Sisters: Amy Slaton Cries After Reaching Huge Milestone in Weight Loss Journey

Tammy Slaton isn't the only 1000-Lb. Sisters star on a body transformation journey.

Her sister Amanda Halterman showed off her own slimmer physique on social media, prompting many fans of the TLC star share their support.

"Congratulations on that weight loss!" one person commented on a photo the 44-year-old posted of herself on Instagram March 17, while another user wrote, "You look so happy and healthy!"

Just days before sharing her transformation, Amanda shared insight into her battle with self-confidence. "I know what it’s like to struggle with self-confidence," she said on Instagram March 15. "Mellow reminds me every day of how he sees me through his eyes, and it helps so much."

She added, "I’m learning to love myself enough to accept both the compliments and the constructive criticism, and I can feel myself growing into the person I’m meant to be. I hope you’re finding that too!"

Days later, Amanda shared more inspirational words for her followers. "The harsh truth: Success ain't for the weak," she wrote on Instagram March 19. "Everybody wants success until it's time to do what success requires. No handouts. No shortcuts. No excuses. Just discipline, consistency, and sacrifice."

She continued, "You don't need permission to be great. You don't need validation to go all in. You don't need anyone to believe in you—except YOU."

Amanda's update on her weight loss journey follows a major health scare earlier this year, during which she was hospitalized for three days. In a February TikTok, she recalled feeling "very sick" with upper respiratory symptoms since December. She said she contracted COVID in January, which caused her to have brain fog as well.

However, weeks later, she offered a positive health update. "I've got the heart monitor off," she said in a TikTok video shared Feb. 28. "I feel so much better."

She added, "I don't have any answers as far as what happened, but I'm definitely taking care of myself."

In the caption, she thanked her partner, Leonard Moore, for his support. "Thank you for sticking by my side as we navigate this (somewhat) new to us lifestyle together," she wrote. "To A healthier us."

Amid her struggles, Amanda has been a source of support for Tammy, who has lost 500 pounds on her weight loss journey, which she has documented on 1000-Lb. Sisters and on social media. "We are so proud of you sis. Keep pushing forward to accomplish your goals," Amanda wrote on Instagram in January. "You got this and we got you!"
